Book Review: Party Girl by Rachel Hollis

I picked up this book because I wanted something fun and easy to read and this book is definitely both things. I like books that show women figuring out life, working hard for their dreams and succeed in accomplishing that. This book was both fun and inspiring, the main character, Landon Brinkley, a very relatable 20 something girl, is finding her way into the event planning world and ends up in Hollywood to work for a huge celebrity event planning firm where she'll find out that there is another side to the glamorous life we see from the outside.

This book is part of The Girls series books, the next one is Party Girl's First Date and then Sweet Girl, which was out this year.
What also drawn me into reading Party Girl is that I follow the author on Instagram, her name is Rachel Hollis, and I love that she is very down to earth, always posting happy and inspiring things that make you want to keep fighting for your dreams.

Here's a little synopsis of the book ( Taken from Amazon ):

Landon Brinkley’s dreams are all coming true. She’s landed an internship with the fabulous Selah Smith, event planner for the Hollywood elite, taking her from small-town Texas to the bright lights of LA. Landon soon finds herself in a world in which spending a million dollars on an event—even a child’s birthday party—is de rigueur and the whims of celebrity clients are life-and-death matters. At first, the thrill of working on A-list parties and celebrity weddings is enough to get Landon through the seventy-five-hour workweeks and endless abuse at the hands of her mercurial boss. But when the reality of the business reveals itself, she’s forced to make a choice: do whatever it takes to get ahead, or stay true to herself.
Drawing on the author’s real-life experiences as an event planner to the stars, Party Girl takes readers on an adventure among Hollywood’s most beautiful—and most outrageous—people, revealing the ugly side of Hollywood’s prettiest parties.

I loved the book, if you want a light read that is fun and inspiring, this is the book for that.

Here's the link to get it from the Kindle Store.

Happy reading!
